COMJIG program at AEJMC

Jock and Peggy got back from the Winter AEJMC “chip” session a week ago and think we have a great program to announce for next summer’s San Francisco convention. Here’s the lineup of programs that COMJIG is sponsoring or co-sponsoring. Mark your calendars now!

Wednesday, Aug. 2:
10-11:30 a.m.: Connections that Matter: Theories and Methods for Researching Community Media. Co-sponsor: Graduate Education Interest Group
1:30-3 p.m.: Research Paper session.
3:15-4:45 p.m.: Mini-Plenary Session: Other Voices, Other Newsrooms: Ethnic, Alternative, Urban and Community Media.” Sponsors: COMJIG, Magazine Division, Religion and Media IG, Gay-Lesbian-Bisexual-Transgender IG.

Thursday, Aug. 3:
11:45 a.m.-1:15 p.m.: What’s Next for Newspapers? A Roundtable Discussion. Newspaper Division is the lead sponsor; COMJIG, co-sponsor.
3:15-4:45 p.m.: Riders in the Storm: Hurricane Katrina Coverage. Visual Communications is the lead sponsor; COMJIG, co-sponsor.
8:30-10 p.m.: Our membership meeting. Discussion topic: “Are We Eating Our Young? The Role of the Community Journalism Educator.
